Upon Returning From My Pilgrimage
Let me just make some simple points:
Be very meticulous in how you choose to live your life. You can’t decide your circumstances, but you can decide where to go from your circumstances.
Relationships don’t always turn out how you want them to, but don’t worry about wasting your time. If you think you are in love, that’s better than not having loved or been loved at all. Sure, your boyfriend may be a douche bag, but at least you are content for a little while. It’s those small pleasures we tend to miss.
Yes, you may be having a child and still be in school. Want the truth? Yes, it will be hard. Want the bright side? Welfare and pell grants. Seriously. Our tax money goes to disadvantaged people like you. I just ask that you not abuse it, but take care of yourself.
So you’re a Christian (or whatever the majority is in your global region) because that’s the way you were raised? I seriously hope you put just a shred of thought into it because there are plenty of people being raised in oppressive situations and taught to believe that it is the supreme ideal of morality, such as certain forms of communism and religious extremism (the way you may consider Muslims, to feed into the media frenzy). There’s a hell of a lot more to religion than “there has to be a God and it might as well be the Judeo-Christian God”. Sorry to tell you honey, but the real second coming might just be shreds of earth amidst a mushroom cloud.
Boyfriend/Girlfriend troubles? They are a person. You are imperfect, whether you look at it religiously or not. I think a relationship is a kind of acceptance of the other’s imperfections. Just make sure you can deal with it. If he or she is really pissing you the hell off, it might be time to upgrade to a better model. See your local Cadillac dealer for more information.
And yes, I am back. After months of not writing quirky, yet brutally honest, blurbs, I have finally arrived from my pilgrimage to discover myself. Yea, I know myself better now, but the days just get a bit grayer. It just makes certain colors pop more, if you look at it from a different perspective. Ta.
